Royal Diamond Wedding Anniversary
To celebrate the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty, The Queen, and His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, The Royal British Legion in association with Elite Publishing, published a special book to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their marriage, which took place on 20th November 1947, and to commemorate their life and times.
A personalised, hard back moire silk bound copies were presented to Her Majesty The Queen in October 2007. Other complimentary copies were sent by name to senior members of the Royal Household; Cabinet Ministers; all members of the Lords and Commons to name but a few. An additional 50,000 copies were distributed at select retail outlets.
The contents of this prestigious tribute book included a message of congratulations from the Prime Minister, messages from The Secretary Of State For Defence and The First Ministers For Scotland and Wales. As well as a foreword from the National President of The Royal British Legion. This lavishly illustrated A4 publication featured an elegant and contemporary design and presented a narrative account, in several phased sections, of Her Majesty's reign, with the wedding anniversary as its theme demonstrating the 60 years of support given by Prince Philip.
